Madrid Cultural Projects was conceived in a local coffee shop in Madrid by three women with a vision of saving the Oscar Huber Memorial Ballpark stadium from further degradation. Initial steps include negotiating the Lease-Lease Back Agreement between the Madrid Landowner's Association and Santa Fe County, selecting a surveyor to perform topographical surveys, hiring an architect/engineer to manage the design, and overseeing all construction and inspection services. A reliable resupply of water is provided by a water catchment tank and drip irrigation system purchased and installed by MCP. Historical Society - The Historical Society is responsible for maintaining historical documents that include letters, photos, newspaper articles and artifacts relevant to the significant cultural history associated with the mining era of years ago. A contact mailing database is being developed to maintain contact with former residents and employees of the mining camp.
